Signed out, nothing leaves your device

Aquarium works fully without an account. In that state your tanks, readings, notes, photos and reminders are stored only on your iPhone. Nothing is sent anywhere.

If you make an account

An account exists so your tanks reach your other devices. It stores:

• Your email address, or the identifier your Apple or Google sign-in returns. Sign in with Apple may give a relay address instead of your real one; that is Apple's choice and it works the same here.
• The contents of your log: tanks, test sessions and readings, journal entries, livestock, equipment, tasks and any photos you add.

This is held on Supabase, which provides the database and file storage. Access is restricted per account at the database level, so one account cannot read another's rows.

What there is none of

No analytics. No advertising, and no advertising identifier. No tracking across apps or websites. No third-party SDK that collects anything. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone, and none of it is used to build a profile of you.

Photos

Photos you take in the app are saved on the device. If you have an account they are uploaded to your own storage so they appear on your other devices. They are not scanned or processed.

Getting it back, and getting rid of it

Settings → Export gives you everything, as CSV and JSON, free and without an account.

Settings → Account → Delete account removes the account and everything the server holds for it, from inside the app. Deleting the app removes the copy held on your device.

Children

Aquarium is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
